Senior Systems Engineer (Capacity Planning and Modeling)

Location: Poznań

Job Description
This position will be reporting to the VP of Infrastructure Platform Engineering and working very closely with the Technical Architect as a lead position in the capacity planning and modeling area.

Main duties:
- Working with the technical systems analysts within the capacity planning team, will be responsible for analyzing and synthesizing data collected and proactively communicating and publishing key metrics, dashboards, capacity plans, forecasts and recommended actions.
- Design and build the infrastructure, tools, procedures and documentation to deliver the defined services
- Leverages reports and data produced through steady state capacity & performance services and IT capacity demands required from projects in the pipeline, to predict and model the IT capacity and performance needs
- Ensures capacity plans are produced in a timely manner to support budgeting and funding cycles as well as with sufficient lead time for procurement of components, hardware upgrades and provisioning of additional computing services
- Performs application and service sizing to identify the appropriate IT capacity required
- Collaborates with the steady state capacity and performance team to create baselines to be used in modeling
- Assists as a tier 3 resource in providing additional insight for root-cause analysis of capacity issues

Skills & Experience
- Expert level experience with capacity management and modeling tools such as BMC Performance Assurance, Metron Athene, or others
- Extensive experience in the design and engineering of server and storage across large and global installations of thousands servers and Petabytes of storage
- Proven track record of developing effective and efficient capacity plans
- Administration level experience with Tivoli Endpoint and IBM Tivoli Monitoring
- Proficient in developing scripts to perform custom logging and analysis, where appropriate (Perl, UNIX shell, Power Shell)
- Understanding of Mainframe and AS/400 capacity and performance attributes
- Expert troubleshooting skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to convey complex information and comfortable in the delivery of materials and presentations to Senior management
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
