CAD Technician

CAD Technician PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Globalforce Services - specialising in international recruitment on technical positions - is looking for a member of the Technical Department for our client, specialising in civil engineering/constructions. The role will involve the design of a wide range of precast concrete products, generally engineering projects. The team includes Engineers and Technicians, and activities are based around specific projects or standard product ranges. The Technical Department engages with all divisions of the company, providing technical and structural input in support of existing products and new product development. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Undertake all necessary CAD drawing and detailing associated with the manufacturing of precast products • Producing Autocad General Arrangement and Reinforced Concrete details, with associated reinforcement scheduling for projects, ensuring conformance to specifications • Carry out design calculations • Produce Schedules for procurement and or manufacturing • Liaising with internal and external Clients, Contractors and Consultants • Ensuring work output conforms to specifications and standard/code requirements • Maintaining project records • Liaising with the factory Production Teams • Assist with drawing queries from estimating and commercial staff on technical matters regarding product use and manufacture • Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to the job • Carry out other reasonable requests made by the line manager to support departmental or company objectives Essential: • Hold an ONC/HND/BTEC in Civil Engineering or Construction related discipline • English & Maths equivalent to Grade C or above • AutoCAD experience • Excellent computer skills with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office in particularly Excel • Experience in Reinforced concrete detailing • Good time management skills with the ability to prioritise work and manage a number of tasks concurrently • Ability to work on own initiative but understand level of responsibility within the team • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written • Ability to interact with a wide range of people including clients, contractors & consultants • Involved with reinforced concrete design in a civil engineering environment • Demonstrate the ability to work calmly under pressure. • Be a highly motivated individual with initiative, self-confidence, with the drive and ability to work under their own direction or within a team of professionals • Be keen to develop their individual capability and career development • Hold a valid driving license Desirable: • Previous experience of working in Precast Concrete manufacturing environment • Knowledge of Civil Engineering products (eg Drainage pipes/manhole/shafts/cover slabs) • Experience in a BIM software package. • Knowledge of Eurocodes • Previous design experience would be an advantage • Willingness to continue personal development • Specific Autocad qualification SALARY & BENEFITS: Competitive salary, Contributory Pension Scheme PROBATION: 12 weeks LOCATION: United Kingdom Method of Application: To apply for this position, please send a copy of your CV to: praca@globalforce.pl Please add the following statement: „Wyrażam zgodę na przetwarzanie danych osobowych zawartych w mojej ofercie pracy dla potrzeb procesu rekrutacji zgodnie z ustawą z dnia 29.08.1997 r. o Ochronie Danych Osobowych, tekst jednolity: Dz.
